A childhood shaped across two worlds
Born in Somalia and later moving to the UK, Abdi grew up with cerebral palsy and experienced early on how easily disability can shape other people’s expectations. His childhood gave him a perspective on access, independence and being understood that would later influence his work.

Communication changed what was possible
AAC gave Abdi a way to express his thoughts, personality and ambitions on his own terms. As his independence grew, so did his understanding of what meaningful communication access really requires. In 2018, he began turning that lived experience into professional work within the AAC sector.

He founded Limitless Minds Group to bridge that gap, bringing lived expertise into training, education and the decisions that shape disabled people’s lives.
